Flare is back
From bootcuts to bell bottoms, flares are a unique and fun choice. If you want to explore new silhouettes or enjoy current trends, this article and the INSPO album may be useful. enjoy.
Well, a few years after a niche popularity, Farrell and Kendrick suddenly all the guys are hooked on Flair. Luckily I’ve been a fan for quite some time. So I had already saved Inspo. Let’s go now.
We call them boot cuts or cowboy cuts (especially if they are subtly flared jeans), or call the bottom of the bell (especially if they are curved at the bottom and come from the 70s). Whatever you want to call them, the flares are uniquely cool. Funky, sometimes dramatic, sometimes horny…Flare is not trivial to style. But how do you need to style it?
Now, think about the shape. Do they burn dramatically or subtly? From the knee? high? Lower? Are they solid rock stars in their crotch? Are they wide all over?
How do they drape? Are they made of denim? Did they fold their pants around? Will they break your shoes? How are they actually cut? Pants that sometimes cut out perfectly straight flares at the hem. See Edward Sexton’s “Parallel Cut” Pants.
What shoes should I wear? Smooth boots? Cowboy boots? I dare say…sneakers? Which top? Leather jacket? Western shirt? Silk camp color? Basic tee?
Throughout this album I will answer these questions, share some of my own attempts, share some of my own, and share some photos that may put in some recommendations. Include subtle options, bootcuts if you do, and more dramatic options. Additionally, some options include affiliate links. A general tip: buy the flares at the correct length. Don’t plan on hemming them, as heming them will ruin the shape.
Incidentally, for those who didn’t notice, I decided to launch a paid membership class here. All of the main benefits lie in Jerritia. This gives you early access to the Discord server, full access to all private sections, and access to eBay links that I think are too fast just to give them. To everyone. I am currently planning to make all articles free to read them all for free so there is no pressure. For now, have fun!
I think these usually require specific footwear. It’s from the beginning, like cowboy boots or sophisticated heeled boots like St. Laurent Wyatt. But both Pharrell and Kendrick wear them in the thicker sneakers below. Maybe it’s a new twist on old trends. You need to give it a try.
Anyway… bootcut flare denim is a subtle option, so it might be a good way to get started. Again, Farrell is a little more dramatic and he wears them in sneakers, so his approach is easier for you. Either way, denim is a good idea.
Where to get flare jeans
Taylor that can cut good flares
This category includes denim and wool flares, and several other types below, but had to be separated. When you hear the term “flare,” you may have an image in your head, but the image may contain slim knees. That’s understandable. That slim knee helps to give you flare drama. Or it can help you drape in a certain special way. However, there are other shapes that still act as flares. You can have wide pants on the top or wide knees, and they can become wider as you go.
These hurt different itching, so I put them in my own category. I hope you can still enjoy them.
Where to get wide flare
There are no real restrictions on fabrics and phrase formulations. So, it’s become quite odd in the “broad” category, but let’s continue.
Velvet is the perfect fabric for flares. So does corduroy. Play with colours. atmosphere.

For your final tip: Don’t be afraid to shop in the Women’s section. If the measurements work and your pants look good to you, you’ll be hooked.
