11 of my favourite influencer gifts from the past year
Yes, I’m an influencer now. It’s strange. People realise me. I was interviewed, it came out yesterday. Do I have a subscriber now? People pay me every month. why? Well, that means… you should do it too!
A year ago I started posting Instagram reels regularly. At the time, it had a total of around 1,700 followers, and it had reached approximately 88,132. That’s about 50 times the jump. It’s a fun way to think about it. Also, it’s jarring.
Yes, there was a perk. The brand sent me a gift. And I like most of them. And I love some. Some disclaimers before we get into it:
Let’s look at the standards so that it doesn’t get in the way.
- I’m talking about my favorites, but it’s not the best. The pieces are incredible in the vacuum, but if they don’t suit my wardrobe particularly well or suit me, I probably won’t make a list.
- This list is a specific gift I received that year from April 16, 2024 to April 15, 2025. I’ve got some great pieces before and some great pieces on the horizon, but they’re not important. Some of the pieces are in my wardrobe, but I need more time before I really make a judgment about how they work for me.
- This list only includes gifts received for free through Influencerness. There are no gifts from friends and family, and no gifts that cost money other than basic tailoring. You will see what I mean.
Some works may get honorable mention in special cases, but otherwise they are lacking according to standards.
Now, let’s get to that.
Sunspel’s Corduroy Blouson
I’ve been wanting a very basic Bruson for a long time. Sunspel has something simple, but everything is correct. Soft and lightweight corduroy. Solid navy. Good collar, good pockets. A double zipper that actually works. And slightly extended shoulders that look good as structured in the right way, despite the fact that the magic is not padded. I love it.
Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have corduroy in stock anymore, but they have a jacket similar to suede. cool. One warning is that they call it “Harrington” despite the lack of Harrington’s collar.
My Frizmworks “Hunting Heritage Jacket”
I probably like the Frizmworks version of Barbour Spey’s play more. It’s great and cropped. There are lovely pockets, including hand warmer pockets and unique chest pockets. Cotton is not a wax, it’s a poly/cotton blend, yes, it’s cheaper, but lighter and more comfortable. And it has a good tartan lining that appears nicely when I roll up the sleeves. The color hits the right. I also think the Navy works really well against the same brown collar. And it helps me round out my fall jacket rotation.
Side notes, I have too many green jackets right now, but I like them all. Buck Mason sent me a fatigue shirt jacket. Pockets are the least practical in my use case, but they look cool. And I got a lightweight puff from Pompeii, which is no longer on their website, but it has a fun 70s vibe.
OMTC X Alfargo’s OCBD
Hmm. Ultra heavy hand-woven oxford cloth with a unique and beautiful pattern. and It was a collaboration with my boy from Alphalgo. Who can ask for more?
Suitable cloth flannel
The proper fabric has made me a lot of great stuff, but this flannel is probably my favorite. It is their “low twist in Japan” fabric, and it is very soft. Unfortunately, this colour is no longer available (after me and all the other influencers that tastes dived into), but there should be a whole new batch of colours out there right now. The fabric is heavy and very soft, and Japanese. We all know how good the clothes are when they’re there Japanese. Anyway, I got it on the camp collar. Because I want a camping collar flannel…here, I’d like to thank for the right fabric!
(Also, 10% off using my discount code “Button10”).
Back Mason Chambray Button Down
I actually didn’t own a chambray button the other day. And this fits pretty well for me. I don’t really believe in Staples, but Chambray is a great addition to most men’s wardrobes. This particular shirt is light enough on milder days on summer days, but light enough to wear under knits in winter. That’s good. You must own it.
Manretha Oysterman
Even before I started posting reels regularly, I posted reels about my sweaters about pockets. I think they’re cool. I won the Frizmworks Alpaca Boucle in one of the few Instagram contests I’ve ever entered, but I still wanted an Oysterman. That was a problem as the best colours kept selling out quickly. But eventually I started talking to Mike and he wanted to send me… the jacket. That would have been great too. But that didn’t work, Yadda Yadda, and I got the oysters instead. And I love it!
Pockets, unique diamond texture, curled hem/neck/cuffs. And it fits as I like it. It’s a little short, not too short. It’s a little more fulfilling and not full. The neck is slightly lowered, so frame the shirt collar in a cool way. It’s a unique piece. I like it.
I also like all the other knits I’ve got, but as explained below, none of them suits this.
Mark the tailor code
Mark the Taylor, a still small brand, reached out to me with a relatively small product. Still, they had good stories and big pants. You know I’m a big pants sucker. They are made in the USA from Brisbane Moss Corduroy. And I had to set up the size. So my vanity size is 32, my real size is 34, but I needed 36 for these. But get them. They are cool.
Ah, I hemmed these, but I count them as “basic tailoring” so a little money doesn’t disqualify them.
Meermin Boots
I’ve been a Meermin fan for a long time. My first decent dress shoes were carriage loafers that I won at the eBay auction. I have encouraged them to meet at least dozens of people on reddit, and many people in person. They are very easy to recommend. They are truly excellent quality for the price, they name their skin tanning, and in recent years they celebrate their skin tanning and their period of intrusion and return process, with things like their Flex Goodyear Welt and US stores/domestic shipping.
Anyway, I definitely sold at least 100 pairs for them in front I’ve got the power of affiliate links. But now I can create affiliate links and the brand sent me free boots. That’s pretty cool. Please click.
My wallet
Well, I don’t know if this is important or not. Because it’s a collaboration, we took the sample as part of the design process…and we’re not ready to reveal it yet. But be excited.
American trench retro striped socks
I tried all the flashy sock brands out there. From Uniqlo to anonymity and falke to… so many flashy socks, but American trench retro stripes are my favorite. they are Incredible Soft but they still remembered the socks need Some nylons and elastin last and work. They fit my feet well and keep them warm in the heat without being cozy due to the warm weather…and all the colorways seem special in their own way. And they do it all in America! Man, they’re good at socks.
Layton Exclusif by Parfums de Marly
I don’t know much about fragrances, but I know I really like it. I also enjoy Althair, which smells like desert, but Layton Exclusif is more… do you think it’s every day? Anyway, they sent me lots of samples and full size bottles, and I like most of them, so thank you!
I will continue to post you as I may have some good things coming in the future, but really, you should smell the bunch and choose what it smells to you.
I embroidered Octobre Editions Corduroy Cap
This cap is soft and lovely, but I ordered a blank one and embroidered it with a tattoo fabric. It costs me so I don’t wear a blank cap, so it’s technically not qualified.
Buck Mason Herringbone Twill P-43 Fatigue Shirt Jacket
This jacket is amazing. It looks cool, soft and truly solid replica of the old P-43 fatigue jacket up to the buttons. So I love it but I don’t know how to wear it. I want to wear it with my jeans, but I don’t like the five pocket pants. When you wear jeans, put your items in the pocket of your jacket. But these jacket pockets are not practical for my phone, for example. So… I’m going to try it out after a while, wear it with Chino and try it out with another layer with maybe more user-friendly pockets… at least enjoy it in the spring. But the judges are still out on whether it really makes sense to my style and wardrobe. I hope it does. Man, I like their herringbone twill…
Good but I would be better if it wasn’t that short
Hmm, these are all really cool sweaters. Alan is from Peregrine and is perfect for a body other than mine. It’s a high quality product that could probably last for decades, just as the ribs are still working. I use ribs to effectively shorten my body and it’s great. Ah, but I had to size it up to fit well with my neck, but still, the collared shirt doesn’t stick out… yeah. I still love it. But it is demoted to the honorable mention that it is not perfect.
Merz B. Schwannen’s cardigan is no longer on the website, but yeah…it’s a super duper soft wool cache mere blend, in a fun shade of pink, pockets and embroidered on the back. and It’s a little slimmer, and even my short body is a little longer. I don’t think it feels slim after I’ve reduced the size and put on a few clothes (because that’s how knitwear works). it’s not that It’s long, but it’s long enough that I can’t wear most of the jackets on it.
And the turtleneck is Octobre Editions’ spotted (“Donegal”) wool. The spotted wool is cool and not often seen in the turtleneck… yeah, this plays a rather unique role. And I just put this in. You can’t actually wear it. If you’re tall, go for it.
Furthermore, my cotton hempty from Buck Mason is also too long, and otherwise perfect. Honestly, I think heming t-shirts is odd, but… I might hem these. They are really nice tee shirts. I’m shoving them in and I’m worried that it could cause some nasty stretch marks in hemp. Yes… Should I hem two tee shirts?
It’s too long but not a cool way to my silver ostrich belt
I think I’m going to get the size up and do that fun thing people do with the long western belt that loops it around. I was stupid. Now I need to punch two or three holes into this. It’s difficult with the western belt.
Still, it is wonderful Leather, I want another belt from them. Maybe this time I’ll get it in the actual normal size. You do the same and order the actual size like a normal person.
Back Mason Black Satine Western Shirt
There are a lot of guys, Buck Mason here. This is very cool, but the fabric should not be sitting on my body long enough to take a good photo. I think it needs to be washed. I understand.
Niven’s custom flannel flare
So, Niven Bespoke’s Sajid wanted to make me pants. I asked for a brown flannel flare, but obviously he delivered. He asked me to pay the shipping fee from across the pond and I had to adjust them (he did that, but it didn’t make sense in the shipment)… In fact, I thought about it, so these are one of the most expensive pairs of pants I own. Yeah. All the pennies are worth it.
